Spiral

From the spin of the wheel

comes a spiral

threading itself

up through the vessel

until it reaches the rim

where this twist in the clay

 slips into air

then travels on invisibly

beyond the turning earth

and up into the whirling stars.

Elizabeth Burns

An innovative collaboration inspired by ceramics and a Scottish woodland.

We are pleased to announce that the full collaboration, including the Edinburgh, Tombreck Woodland and the StAnza exhibitions will be published in book form in October 2016. This will include all of the poetry, seventy photographic plates and essays exploring the ideas, contexts and processes behind the exhibitions. There will also be direct contributions from Anne, Paul and Alan Rice. There are around thirty poems which were included in the collaboration exhibitions, but which escaped the exhibition pamphlets, and they will all be published for the first time in this book.
This will be a limited edition hardback with beautiful photography by Iga Gozdowska. The DVD of the insightful film PotterPainterPoet, directed by Sitar Rose, will also be included as an integral part of the package.
